I’ve used Logi POP switches for several years now. This app had been on its last legs for years. I had to juggle old devices to adjust certain settings, where iOS updates made the UI unusable. And by happenstance, I had need to try to make some adjustments to my scenes after some recent hardware upgrades. Imagine my surprise that an update was published 4 days prior, fixing many of the most devastating bugs that had plagued the experience of using this app. Realize, this product line is in an end of life state—no new hardware being made. But this is a review of the software, not the hardware. And the services available in this software still mostly do everything that it was ever advertised to do. So no new features will likely ever come, but still useful for certain workflows. I give many thanks to the engineer who pushed out this update! I have imagine they did it just for their own personal devices. I suspect this will be the final update. But it’s in an ok spot to be useful for at least a few more years, I think. To this day, the options in this space are limited, and I’m glad I don’t have to invest in any other system just yet, all of them on the market now having their own drawbacks. Thankfully, this old, under appreciated, reliable ecosystem has a little fight left in it.
I keep an old android phone around to change the “recipes” because they don’t work properly, and never worked properly in iOS. The android version allows the user to change the brightness of Hue and Lifx bulbs in recipes, while this has never worked in iOS. Recently, the bridge has been struggling to connect to my router. Resetting the bridge hasn’t worked and the app has no way of clearing out the bridge before a re-pair attempt.
OK so now I’m stuck can’t get back into the app and of course there’s no support available just useless forums.
Arcane, cryptic and impenetrable. Needs to be rebuild from ground up for usability and user friendliness.
Welp. 1.6 No longer connects to a Lutron hub. So the whole POP system is headed for the trash. Shame, because it worked well with systems from multiple vendors for a while. Getting rather tired of home connectivity devices that get abandoned after a couple of years.
