Not user friendly

I can only assume that I am being protected, but what I do know is that Nord has made it virtually impossible to simply log in to my account. When I enter my email and password I am prompted to enter a code from an authenticator app. I use Authy and the codes are never accepted. The only alternative is to enter “backup codes” with no explanation provided as to where to find these codes. I have made more than one request for assistance, so far with no response.
