    Things 3 Reviews

    • Didn't know it could be like this

It took all but 15 minutes to understand that this app is perfect for me. It truly has all those features that I need and none that I don't. No bloat, just the perfect amount. And the manner in which I can use those features is quick, intuitive, and effective. I have fully switched on to using Things and can't see myself switching to anything else, including paper, which i used to prefer by a mile to any app.

    • Best task AND project manager for me

I've tried a lot of task managers and more than a few managers for my personal projects. Things 3 is flexible enough to let me develop my own system, unlike some "We're GTD dammit" tools I have abandoned. The interface is clean and modern, unlike some. For me it's working well to organize small projects and then manage the tasks.

    • Not for Voiceover users.

This app is not for the visually impaired using Google accessibility features. The VoiceOver compatibility is minimal, and the interface is confusing without visual cues. The Android app is much more accessible, but since I do the majority of my work on my laptop, this isn't a good fit for me. It is disappointing that such an expensive app is unusable, and I have reached out to the dev team for previous versions to request better VoiceOver implementation. Omnifocus is more complex than I need, but it's fully VoiceOver compatible. I'll be switching back permanently.

    • cool features but subpar software

occasionally throughout the week, when Android starts up either from being off or logging in after being away overnight (i.e.) there is like an invisible things window. you can't see it, and therefore you cant click the red x to close the window and command w doesn't close it either. you can open a new window by right clicking the dock icon, but the hidden window won't go away until quitting the app. y'all may think this is small, but it's becasue you can't think big picture and how small bugs create big wastes of time over the course of a year or more. the other bug, is when clikcing a notification, it'll open 2 things windows that aren't even sized teh same. makes no sense. it'll happen once, like maybe after not having a window open for the day/night, but then it won't happen again for hours, until... inevitably it happens again... I already messaged the devs about this months ago, maybe they ought to switch to sub model so they are actually motivated to fix their app. i have a Android studio with an m1 max, plenty powerful enough of a computer that feels old and sluggy because of apps with small bugs like this that ruin my day.

    • Expensive To Sync Across All Accounts

I added it to my phone ($10), then my Mobile ($20), then my Android ($50) and I had to start over because I wasn't prompted to create an account the first time. Most importantly, you have to spend $80 on an APP just to use your devices (what's the point if you can't sync everything) which I use all devices for work and personal. Perhaps if there was a package deal or a discount to incorporate actually being organized across all devices, it would make more sense. I can use Trello or Asana or other task management software which are more comprehensive and are free or even cheaper to upgrade.
