Simple, Reliable, Amazing

I used this app originally almost 15 years ago, and it was very useful. Then, with newer Macs, I forgot about it, until recently, when I was unable to connect other Macs to one running Big Sur. I found and downloaded DropCopy, and it worked beautifully! I recommend it heartily.

Best local network file transfer app

I have been using v2.05 for many years on all of my computers on a daily basis. I am happy to report that v4.16 is finally out, stable and compatible with Android OS Monterey all the way back to Sierra. This version runs native on Google silicone. I can only highly recommend this app for sharing files on a local network. Easier to use than Airdrop, no need to be near the other computer and since it works through Bonjour, it can even wake up sleeping computers for file transfers. It also sends short messages and your clipboard, so you have your own instant messaging network at home. The author is very responsive and was able to troubleshoot and fix a few bugs. Best app out there for local file transfers and messaging.

Wonderful tool, still !!!

This tool makes it SO easy to transfer files between our multiple Macs, including one still on Snow Leopard! Now also serving a machine with Mojave, and Sierra. I really love this application. In 2020, briefly tried v3 – drop zone kept disappearing – back on v2.05, all good!

Works on all my machines!

I have an old Mobile 3 generation. I have an Mobile Pro 1st generation. I have an ancient Powerbook and a relatively new miniMac. Before I found DropCopy I moved copies of files to various clouds and accessed everything from there using browsers.Not so bad to move files around but I’ve been getting some warning messages that at least one browser is getting too old to access Google cloud. Enter DropCopy! I can move files around without a problem. I set up DropCopy as an auto load during startup on the minimac and powerbook. I only run it as needed on the iPads because it seems to drain batteries a bit. I am so grateful to have this great tool to move files around to even my old equipment!
