I've spent weeks trying to find an application with this functionality. Manico lets you launch, focus, and hide apps by the press of custom shortcut that YOU create. This is perfect for my workflow.
My only gripe is that for some reason after an update I presume that the pop up menu saying what each shortcut was seems to not be working.
