With the latest update they added in a spam feature, evey time you open the app it asks you to buy their new version. There is no way to disable it, and it is very annoying. I have put up with their bugs, and issues, but for this one I am just going to have to uninstall it and never look back ….
The scp feature did not work!
I was looking for a Android version equvilent to WinSCP. DCommander looked to fit the bill. When I purchased this, however, I was unable connect to ANYTHING but my Android’s hdd. I thought “hmm. maybe it is on CentOS” (thinking host firewall). I went to a Windows 7 VM and installed WinSCP (to verify). Launched WinSCP on the Win 7 box, authenticated, and it worked like a champ. I reached out to DCommander Support for this product almost a week ago and have gotten ZERO correspondance. Short Answer: Don’t watse your hard earned money. Developers need to give us a test run to make sure thier stuff works verses forking over money for this half baked junk.
Program prompts for permission to gain access to external volumes, but then open’s up the user’s local directory after having to go through that step. The work around is tedius - and will make one resort to going back to the finder for performing file operations. Program also maps different short cuts to operations than one would find in the operating system by default - which can be frustrating…(Quick VIew by typing on space bar - does not work) - you need to click on the GUI button to quick view… space will select files.. Even PDF’s don’t open correctly - as the commander doesn’t know to open acrobat for PDF, and “.sit” files are not opened as would be expected. In summary - very buggy, very frustrating. Hopefully these problems will be fixed in a future version.
Have had problems with all versions. Took the chance to update, now can't get any files. Went through all troubleshooting options that came with it. Great concept, poor execution.
