I have used SciTe for years on Linux and Windows and it’s my text editor of choice. This Android port is a crap. Save/Load Session does not even work. Other features as others have noted also do not work. Please don’t waste your $41.99. Simply not worth it.
I have used a combination of BBedit and the terminal for working with Lua for a while. However, there is a new upgrade for BBEdit that costs nearly as much as this app. I tried looking around for info and in a few places read that SiTe is generally better than BBEdit. One reason that I bought this app because it was highly recommended in the book BEGINNING LUA WITH WORLD OF WARCRAFT ADDONS, and that the app include a “Go” function. That looked like I could do just about everything from this one app. When I tried running a current lua file from the app, I got this message: >lua5.1 "fact.lua" shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: Operation not permitted /bin/bash: lua5.1: command not found >Exit code: 0 I guess that this is combination of permissions and the fact that I have Lua 5.3.3 which installed on my home directory when I followed the Lua installation/make instructions. The /bin/bash:lua5.1 looks windowish to me????
I’ve used Scite on the windows platform for years, so it was a no-brainer. I do wish the "File -> Open Recent” feature would actually work though. It’s never done anything and I open _plenty_ of docs with this editor.
I’ve used SciTE on a PC doing Python for years and it is awesome. I’m trying to move to Android and saw this port. When I try to run Python from F5 (Tools, Go) I get the error: shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: Operation not permitted. So some kind of a permissions error but not being a Android guy I’m lost. There is no Android specifc info with the app, and there is no way to contact the developer. This app was updated in April, so I expected it to support Yosemite?
