The interface is like a time machine that takes you about two decades back in time. But I can't say I've ever encountered the kind of problems described by other reviewers in nearly 10 years using this software or the Buffalo drive I use with it. I've never had a problem finding or mounting my NAS drive, from various computers.
I can't add a device manually and since it's a new device on a different VLAN than my computer, the scan doesn't find it because I can't adjust scan settings. This app is absolutely worthless in every way.
Just bought a new Buffalo 8GB NAS and set it up. Neither my Windows PCs nor Android could discover it on the network. Checked the link light on the switch that it was connected to, and no light at - not green nor yellow meaning the unit itself can't even get on the network so that's why it couldn't be found from within the Buffalo locator utility. I called their Support line, and a pre-recorded message stated if you needed technical support, to go online to their web site. I'm not doing that...I'm taking this thing back to the store today.
Until a 64bit version of this app is released, it is useless on Catalina. Come on Buffalo, earn what we spend on your hardware! I'll be switching to a different (more competent) company unless the app makes the paperweight usefule again.
Catalina made this 32 bit app obsolete, time to update the app Buffalo
