The idea seems sound, if you need to do web searches a lot & get pages & pages of web hits you must sort through. If it delivers better than the browsers you are already using, I'm not certain. Its not for everyday searches, but rather for intense ones. Beats the usual search engine display of hits that require many pages to click through to find what I want. Caveat is that one is still getting used to it so I'm a little lukewarm about this app & never thought I'd pay for a browser. The full price seemed too high to me, for my limited use. I bought it on a slight holiday discount, partly on the strength of some of the other apps Devon makes. So far, it appears to rate the results of web searches & present them the way Sherlock used to do, for one example. Then you can refine your results, parse them with more specific booleans once made & view those qualified results several ways. I like the "mind map" display of categories. It ultimately depends on the quality of the hits you got up front. GI, can still yield GO. Content on the web is designed with tags to broadly maximize their store hits & I don't know if this adequately overcomes those misplaced hits as well as advertised if what you seek is something outside of an online store, or if it circumvents the way the usual search engines biases & shows its hits. Using DevonAgent to find stuff to buy: I've used it to search for particular mechanical components, expecting that specs contained in pdfs & online documentation would appear, but the results haven't been quite as good as I hoped, possibly because vendors poorly tag for critical detail in their catalogs, I guess, or I need to set the searches to "DEEP," which slows them down considerably. You can set those searches to occur during off hours. There are a number of specific plug-ins you can download which search [apparently] unusual sites. What those sites actually do & why I'd expect to find there pertinent to my searches is a mystery. DevonAgent Pro doesn't make the web a better place, but it might help sort through the flotsam stuck in the fishing nets if your time is important to you.
One of the best apps in the store.
