I’m a first-time mom, and was recently diagnosed with ADHD. It was such a struggle in the beginning with my baby when they were telling us to track sleeps, feeds, diapers, etc., partly from exhaustion but also from ADHD. I understood the concept of wake windows, but would often forget when my baby woke up and when her next nap should be. My sister had bought me one of those baby sleep books as well but it put me to sleep instead of my kid! Fast forward to almost a year later. I was a sleep deprived mom, barely feeling like myself to the point where my husband was going, “Do we need to get you help??” My baby wouldn’t sleep through the night without me, and on those few nights I could get her started in the crib, she was waking up so frequently, I would eventually just give in and bring her into bed with me. I would try to sleep train, try to let her cry it out, but the sleep deprivation overcame my willpower. I was getting ready to buy one of those baby sleep guru’s $300+ course (not knocking the guru and her expertise, it’s just out of my budget) when I came across this app. I wasn’t thrilled about the price, but it was still cheaper than the sleep guru, and there was a free trial. After entering all of my baby’s info, it asked me to input her naps from the day. My baby is in daycare, and her naps are entered into an app. She’s 11 months and still is supposed to have 2 naps, but I noticed she’d only been getting one 2-hour nap for the last few days! I entered that nap duration into the app, and was shocked to find out I needed to be putting her to bed at 5:30 PM! WHAT?!? You’re telling me she’s supposed to sleep from 5:30 to 7 AM the next morning?? No freaking way, but I guess it’s worth a shot. So I rushed home from work, picked her up from daycare, immediately gave her a bath and did our bedtime routine — sure enough, she slept the whole night… alone… in her crib!! I was blown away! I’ve been using this app for about two weeks now and it’s been life changing! The nap schedule it generates is pretty spot on, her sleepy cues line up pretty well with when the app says to look for them. I’ve also found the mini courses and sleep info very helpful! While there have still been some nights that were a struggle, her sleep stretches are getting longer and her ability to self-soothe is improving. This mama is getting more sleep as well, which has caused a noticeable improvement in my mood and everyday life! I would recommend this app to any parent!!
This is tiered levels of cry it out wrapped in a nice bow. They don’t teach you anything you cannot get for free online. If it’s discipline, reassurance and someone to help you through CIO this is the app for you. But if you’re not looking to have your baby crying for hours then don’t waste your money. Again the app is well done, but if you’re against CIO it’s not worth it.
I started using the app a year ago when they had just released it. I’ve seen the improvements they have made. What I liked about the app was the small, easy to manage education sessions. They kept the momentum going without being overwhelming. When you enter everything in, it is able to tell you when to expect a nap or bedtime. It helped me recognize her signs of sleepiness and get her to bed. After a year, I know what to do if there is a shift in her day and how to get back on track. Thank you for helping me get my daughter to sleep through the night!
My wife purchased the app, and sent me the log in information so I could track our baby’s naps. After receiving the verification code, I was prompted to purchase the app again or restore purchase. I selected restore purchase, since we already paid, but it indicated there was no purchase. Frustrated, my wife reached out for support and they suggested we share the app through a family plan. Reasonable and we both had one already set up, so I added her to my plan and BAM, another charge immediately hit my account. So now we’ve paid 2 times for the app and you guessed it, I still can’t log in. Ugh. The app itself seems great and has definitely helped, but sharing between devices needs serious improvements.
I’m loving the info and the way it guides you through learning. My baby slept much longer the first night using it. I am finding lots of glitches as I try to navigate the tracking. The Home Screen widget doesn’t update when you adjust the nap time. It tells me there’s an error when I try to add night wakings. Otherwise it works fairly well.
