A friend suggested the App and I found it very useful. The App is easy to use and the stories were very interesting. Would definitely recommend.
The stories are very interesting. We started listening to them when we were still in the hotel. They were so good that We went through the whole app before starting. Then, when we walked the route and listened to the stories the second time. Each story is unique. Go for it.
I was in Chicago on a work trip and had a couple hours to kill before I needed to head to the airport. A coworker suggested the riverwalk and I downloaded this app on the way there. I think it added a lot of interesting context to what was otherwise a pretty standard city stroll. It really went into detail on *every* building and bridge (maybe a little too much, I skipped around a bit). Lots of good historical information too. I wish it had food recommendations though, since I was pretty hungry by the end of the walk.
I don’t know if the Riverwalk has an official app but if not, this should be it. Extremely informative, tons of extra stories (if you want to listen), good audio. Works automatically (audio pops up based on your location, no tapping required). Some suggestions for the developer: 1. Some of the most interesting stories are in the Extra section. Why not put them in the main section? You can put them on the way back. 2. Please add other languages! 3. Some of the pins need adjusting to start a little sooner and/or have a larger circle. Suggestions for other users: 1. The Riverwalk stretches along the south bank of the Chicago River (heart of downtown) and tour starts in the middle of the Riverwalk. First you go left of the center (can go as far as you want and then turn back) and then a bit to the right (tour doesn’t go all the way to the lake). If you aren’t a big walker, it can become tiring. 2. Follow the audio’s instructions for when to pause, when to walk, etc. If you walk when you should be paused, you will run into the circle for the next audio story, and it will automatically pop up and cut off your current audio story. This happened to me at the start (on the stairs) because there is a LOT to listen to while there (Wrigley gum building, Trump building, etc). Overall I am thrilled with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
