It is beyond stupid that Safari/Android has no way to do this by default, but I am more than happy to pay for this solution. Works exactly as intended and the included help docs are clear and concise.

Great App

It errors out on the final step, but here is what you need to do. Open Google Mail Click Settings Change Default Email Client to Open in Webmail.

Works Great

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say I was super pleased on how easy and well this app works to make Gmail the default email handler in Safari. The app walks you through the setup and has a simple test function built right in.

Finally

Can't count the hours spent on trying to get gmail as my email account for Safari. Every time I'd click "Share" Chrome would open in order to access my gmail account. Following the directions here, I fixed the problem in about 10 minutes. Wonderful.
