This app leaves a lot to be desired. Loud annoying ads. Cannot read off line. Seemingly sophomoric technology. It is like an old 80's web site and for some reason it only works in portrait mode. Find a better app for this bible version.
I have not thoroughly vetted this app. It is not a recent Catholic version, but my main objective was finding an audio voice I could tolerate. I also realize it is free. There does not appear to be a way to pay for an ad-free version, but I would not want to pay for an app with the limitations of this app. I am using an Android SE with iOS 10.2 Pros A narrator I can tolerate, maybe even like. I have downloaded several audio bible apps. This one is a non-accented, non-mechanical male voice. A real plus! Cons Audio appears to only be available for New Testament, even though the Home page (and screenshots on iTunes) indicates otherwise. Cannot listen to while driving. Functionality requires a lot of hands-on attention which defeats my purpose for wanting audio. Audio available on a chapter by chapter basis only, 3- 8 minute plays. Even a book by book audio would be nicer, though continuous listening would be preferred (and necessary for driving). Ads appear to hinder functionality – it seems that if I back out of a book/chapter so that an ad can pop up, I can then access the chapter. Can’t always just slide the screen left to the next chapter. This requires a lot of hands-on attention which defeats my purpose for wanting audio. Cannot always scroll through text of some longer chapters even after reducing font size. Sometimes works, sometimes not.
