Who on earth would listen to audiobooks at the available speed settings. There’s absolutely no point in even offering alternative speeds since none but the 1.0x speed is remotely convenient or practical. Foolishness.
I love my actual e-reader, but this app is disappointing. Most of the time it doesn’t sync automatically so I have to manually sync every time I use the app. The page sync feature (where it’s supposed to jump to the page you left off on other devices) doesn’t work at all so I have to go to that manually too. The stats don’t sync at all. Most of my books on my phone say 0 minutes read. And then there’s the issue of not even being able to buy books from the app. I have to buy them through a web browser instead. So basically the only use of this app is to have access to your Kobo-bought books, but without any of the convenience that should come with an app like this.
I just downloaded this app. I don’t have anything in my ‘library’ yet. The suggested titles contained current best-sellers, as expected. I went to the search, and entered my current favorite author (‘Sanderson’), hoping to find a book to download. All of the items found were in Chinese. I closed that sidebar, and a whole line of suggested Chinese titles showed up on my home page. I am not using a VPN or anything that might indicate that I am not in the USA; I have no idea why they decided to show me books in Chinese. The suggestions may have been appropriate, subject-wise, but I don’t read Chinese, so they weren’t actually helpful. My physical Kobo will arrive in two days. I do hope that it isn’t limited to Chinese-language books. (Ok, maybe it’s all in Japanese. Sorry, I can’t tell.)
Paid for a book and downloaded the app and my book still didn’t appear on the app after I paid.
Disgusting! Great care was taken to make it as difficult and complicated as possible.
