The software as it works is fantastic, first and foremost. LMcPH's review is nonsense - the whole point of using software like this is so that you can be aware of what all is connected... why don't you have a list of all your online devices? Anyway, the reason for 3 stars is because 1) they collect all the data on literally everything, which you agree to in order to use it, and 2) and nowadats doesn't get past the actual scan. For a long time, it would just lag and slow down the computer. That defeated the purpose of alerts when a device goes online, and now the software doesn't really work.

Downloaded and tried running multiple times. The app says "xx Devices Found" and then just loops forever. I right click on the app icon and it says "Application not responding" and my only option is to Force Quit. The app doesn't work.

I am not sure, if this was the reason, but when I installed it and ran for first time, after 1 min Norton blocked one attached by name "Open SSL Hearl". I would request to stay away.

Spend over 30 min on chat with tech support and tried various security and privacy changes to no avail. The program claims that I am on a "public" WiFi network and thus cannot initiate scan. I am on my private home WiFi network.

I have dozens of devices on my network. The app found none of them. I am reasonably certain this is because I have a second network adapter in my computer, connected directly to a NAS, but no matter which interface was used for scanning, it should have at least found the NAS. It found nothing at all. The iOS app on the same network found all the devices.
