App will almost never connect to my 2021 Taycan. New version is even worse than the previous version. Maybe Porsche engineers should look at the tesla app when they redesign the next version.
Face recognition doesn’t work in app and the app won’t recognize any security code so any remote functions won’t work also takes forever to connect
I’ve owned several Porsches over the years. I’ll start by saying the Taycan is one of the most enjoyable to drive, which is why there is all the praise in the media. The issue is nobody is giving a fair review of owning one. The PCM and Porsche Connect App are without a doubt the worst designed and buggy interfaces I’ve ever worked with. When they work, which is rarely. The car and the app struggle to communicate. The features that are offered through the app don’t actually work because a majority of the time the app doesn’t communicate with the car effectively. Not mention sometimes when you pull up the app it randomly sets the car alarm off. One of my favorites, it’s constantly sending me texts through the day telling me the windows are open and door is unlocked. Which after several runs to the car only to find out the warnings are incorrect. Not only is this app useless, it can be dangerous, and it’s appalling that Porsche charges you extra for this. Stay away from this option. I agree with other reviewers that I wish I had waiting for Porsche to get this Taycan working properly before I bought one. Porsche should market this experience as “The ultimate drivers car…….if and when it decides to work”
It’s kind of lame when you can’t have Face ID unlock the app directly in the app rather than being redirected to the Porsche site. Not great!
I was excited about this feature, but when I took all the needed steps, it informed me that the service wasn’t available for my car, a new 2022 Macan. So I don’t benefit from this at all.
