Battery Guru for Android

Keep tabs on your battery usage, no frills but extremely useful. The author has several other useful tools you migth want to take a look at as well.

I am probably a bit too picky here, but the font on the dock doesn’t match the latest Yosemite fonts, and it is not vertically centered in the dock, which makes it just not look good sitting in the dock. Love the app, but would be great if the fonts can be fixed.

Good program but lots of times the battery gets short cycled from 30 or 40% to ensure use in immediate future. While Battery Guru provides information on remaining life of charge and of battery, it seems like it would be better if I could see how long it had been since the last full charge (from 10 or 15% up to full.

After installing a new battery in my late-2008 Android (aluminum), I was disappointed because it wasn’t providing much of an increase in battery life. With this tool running I was able to pinpoint my problem was Safari. In particular, Flash and some other plugins that were chewing up battery, even while the machine was sleeping. Problem now solved - plugins disabled. Really like this app. It is like the MPG or KPG computation on a car that allows you to see how your drivig behavior affects fuel efficiency.

For better tracking of battery health/info this is a great app. Not quite sure why the % of life changes, but may be part of the charge/discharge intricities of the Li batteries. One may be surprised how much mAh are being used even on the charger when using intensive CPU (i.e. web site live video); at times even more than the charger/battery can keep up with and the battery starts to charge. Was concerned when my battery capacity dropped to 93% (+/-) but after a good “workout” on battery it is back up to 96.3% - not bad for an almost 3-year-old MBPro original battery.
