Waymo One for Android

I am in the east valley of Arizona I have seen so many waymo vehicles in my area however the app doesn’t even prompt me to schedule a ride. My options are ride today & it shows the vehicle but only allows me to click on view our service area or to slide over to near you to tell me they will let me know when they are in the area… but it’s the area you cover so I’m Confused -12 stars if I could! Not convenient or conventional.

Their only service areas are in Chandler and Tempe right now. Nowhere near Metro Phoenix. Look at a map next time you’re describing the service areas.

I really enjoyed my trip. There are some issues to be addressed, as mentioned in other comments. But I certainly believe the team will correct all those issues in the coming days. I see this as a next big step in automobile revolution and happy to be witnessed in my life. Let just say, the future is here.

i used to use waymo for my daily commute in the phoenix area and enjoyed it. they like to arbitrarily deactivate the area surrounding my job from time to time, however…as in, i waymo to work and then suddenly my location is unavailable when it’s time to leave. 🤦🏾‍♂️ recently, there was construction along the route to work, so they deactivated the area, which is completely understandable. however, the construction ended a while ago and, despite more than one email (with canned responses), they outright refuse to reactivate the area. despite a log of trips showing my repeated travel to this area as well as the pin location showing as squarely within their service area, i get robo-responses about “adding new areas” and am ignored when i explain it’s not a new area. i’ve never seen a company work so diligently to make it impossible to purchase their services; perhaps they’re allergic to money, or have a kink for bad reviews and frustrated emails…idk. what i do know is they seem incapable of fulfilling a simple request or replying to an email in a way that makes sense. 0/10 do not recommend.

It seems like it’s a common occurrence this happens. It will make three rights rather than one left turn. It would cut through random residential communities for no reason. And on top of it all, it doesn’t even serve the light rail station. Self driving cars would be perfect for that last mile to transit connection. Not helpful if it doesn’t connect to transit at all!
