Just got this and my microtonal dreams have come true, but I really wish that the Hz could be more precise, for that mathematical accuracy. Maybe a decimal place or two?
I have Tinnitus. I'm an audio engineer and at age 63 I've noticed a difference in frequency perception in each of my ears. I decided to get an external stereo equalizer to customize the output to my headphones so that I can mixdown my music more accurately without my hearing loss effecting the result in a negative way. I got this app to test my ears. I do a slow frequency sweep and as the pitch rises, the sound drifts from left to right in my headphones showing me precicely which ear is weak on specific frequencies. That info allows me to set my stereo equalizer accordingly to make up for those deficiencies so that I can hear the music I'm working on the way a normal hearing person would. It's perfect for my apllication. Great app at a great price!
Simple and straight forward. I suggest that the author could give the app an ability to save the sounds to an audio file format would be good idea for future mods. :)
Works as advertised. Generates perfect tones easily with a nice untuitive interface. If you are into Solfiggio Freqencies (look it up!) then this is for you!
This little tone generator is nice and simple. Does what it says. Namely, it generates tones within the audio spectrum. This is Not a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) plugin, it works freestanding. I use it for signal diagnostics, checking audio connections, monitor problems, and things that don’t require my DAW to be operational. It can produce sine, square, and sawtooth waves. It has 3 different tone generators so harmonics can be created with it easily. It also allows you to store and recall custom frequency setups. I would have given a 5-star rating but there are a couple of things that could be improved on. For example, the frequency wheels can be difficult to tune over a long range. So, it would be nice if the keyboard cursor keys could spin the wheels in addition to the mouse. Another thing I would add is the ability to directly enter the frequency via the keypad as opposed to spining the wheels. In conclusion, for the price -0.99 cents at time of writing- it’s well worth it if you need to quickly and easily generate tones at variable frequencies within the audio spectrum.
