Joule for Android

There’s a bunch of fluff involving recipes and videos and all that seems to work great most of the time. What is consistently a frustrating disappointment is the apps inability to stay connected to my Joule. Turn it on, check email, go back to the app to add food before heated, can’t connect. Change my mind and want to stop the heating 5 seconds after starting but closed the app so won’t connect. Basically be prepared to close and re-open the app a lot and don’t expect them to fix it. In the future I will think twice about any product involving Chefsteps, and probably any breville product as well.

The Sous Vide itself works amazing, however that is the end of the good. The app you are required to use is terribly slow to connect, doesn’t allow for temp adjustments while cooking, making you start the cook over, searches for items to cook is confusing and cumbersome, and there is no Watch integration for some reason. I just want to quickly search/select the item I need to cook, choose a temp, and go. No one wants to scroll through the tons of disgusting recipes just to get to the manual control.

Please don’t get this sous vide machine, it’s garbage and the support with this app sucks…for some reason I can’t get the motor to propel the water, and I’m having issues connecting to the wifi…

Constantly having connection issues over and over again.. I’ve owned this thing for years and cringe every time I pull it out to cook.. will it connect, will it not.? Depends on how tired you are or how much of a hurry your in. It’s just unreliable.. shopping for a new alternative.. this one goes in the bin.. Don’t believe the hype and reviews online.. and save the 200 bones.

You know what I love about cooking? Being bogged down by having to create accounts and logging-in before I can even start.
