FieldMove is a Productivity app by Petroleum Experts Limited. FieldMove is a map-based digital field mapping app for geological data capture. The app is presented in a map-centric format for use on larger touchscreen tablets.
APK (Android Package Kit) files are the raw files of an Android app. Learn how to install fieldmove.apk file on your phone in 4 Simple Steps:
Yes. We provide some of the safest Apk download mirrors for getting the FieldMove apk.
1. Also contained in FieldMove is a library of geological symbols that enables data to be plotted on a stereonet, which allows the user to carry out analysis based on their field observations and measurements.
2. FieldMove is a Petroleum Experts geological field mapping app designed for forward thinking geologists utilising digital data collection.
3. Data can be exported in three different formats: Move™ (.mve), for direct import into Petex's Move software for model building and analysis, a CSV (.csv) file (comma-separated values, similar to an Excel spreadsheet), and as a Google Earth (.kmz) file.
4. All data readings collected in the field and any linework digitized directly in FieldMove with the drawing tools are fully geo-referenced.
5. The app allows you to use your tablet as a traditional hand-held bearing compass, as well as a digital compass clinometer for measuring and recording the orientation of planar and linear features in the field.
6. When sufficient data has been collected, you can use the drawing tools that include a virtual cursor for precision drawing to create geological boundaries, fault traces and other linework on your basemap.
7. You should always check your device to make sure that all three sensors are present and that the compass and the clinometer are giving accurate readings before starting to collect data.
8. FieldMove is a map-based digital field mapping app for geological data capture.
9. You can choose to manually enter data if you do not trust the internal sensors, or if you are using a traditional hand-held compass clinometer.
10. In addition to handling online maps, geo-referenced basemaps in MBTile or GeoTIFF format can be imported and also are available offline when working in the field.
11. FieldMove supports Mapbox™ online maps and can cache this extensive online map service to work offline in the field.

This is a wonderful app for following maps and collecting a range of data types. It has quickly become my go-to for basic geologic sampling and documentation work. Unfortunately, I can only give it 4 stars because it has a number of significant bugs that should be easy for the developers to sort out: 1. Crashing immediately upon taking a photo (oddly my colleague’s install on a similar Mobile mini has no such problem), 2. Occasional app freezes, 3. The GPS tracking is often slow to find the device (slower than other apps on the same device) and sometimes stops updating the location without even showing that GPS tracking is off, 4. Heavy battery use, 5. Refusing to use certain stratigraphic units that have been stored, and 6. Other, rarer, problems, including once refusing repeatedly to lock in a strike and dip I’d typed in. It would also be quite helpful if users could load feature data, such as from a KML or shapefile.
I love everything about this app! The only bummer is that as soon as I attempt to take a picture, the app immediately crashes. I hope they address this issue in a future update.
Grate app for working in field. As a geologist i used it lots of times and loved it. But after a while compass freezes after power of the tablet. Dear FIELD MOVE team plz fix the bugs
Always fail to get GPS position in fieldmove. The GPS works good in google map by the way.
So far I love it, used it for several large University projects. The strike/dip data was within 1 deg of my Brunton, which is within the margin of human error. Here’s my wish list; 1) easier sharing of projects between iPads, and also iPhones. 2) Ability to import geopdf base-layers (the new USGS standard). 3) more intuitive drawing of rock units with an Google pencil. Look to notability as a template of how to draw and erase more easily. Great job!
