Timeline 3D for Android

What a huge disappointment, this application has gone from good to terrible. I used this application many years ago to generate timelines for a few projects of mine at work and it was great, it did what I needed it to do, it was easy to use and the timelines it produced looked good. I decided to use the product again for some personal projects recently and what a let down. The app is irritating to work with because there is only a 3D view, no 2D view and the 3D view keeps jumping up and down while you are looking at it for no apparent reason, this is so irritating it is causing me to look for another package to create timelines with. I also find the lack of a 2D view very irritating, a 3D view is only necesary when a timeline is interative so making the 3D view the default is in my opinion extremely stupid. The user interface is clumsy, the lack of detailed customisation is limiting and the price to unlock all the feautures of the application is ridiculous if one consider's how limited the functionality of the application is. I think this application has gone from being excellent to being a piece of junk software.

I really like this timeline. It may not have everything some people want, but this is GREAT for simple, classical-style history, homeschool class. We can record what we want, covering as many years as we want, put in the graphics we want, SIMPLY, and get a neat looking interface. It looks like the developer isn't updating this thing anymore... but I would have gladly paid for this feature... if it is going to continue to work with Android updates. Thank you for making something even my ADHD 5th grader can understand in a snap. Sorry to see so many critical reviews.

This is pretty disappointing. I hadn't used the app in a while, and downloaded the new version to great disappointment. The whole purpose of an app like this is to visualize a timeline of events, and it is extremely difficult... no, impossible to do that with the new interface. Every time you want to see the timeline, you have to wait for it to "build" the 3D model which is literally impossible to interact with to look around at your timeline. I'm going to have to find a different app and re-enter all the data I have in my timeline. Huge disappointment.

Overall, I am fairly happy with Timeline 3D because it does what it claims and is not difficult to use. When I have written to support@beedocs, I have always gotten helpful replies. My primary purpose in using Timeline 3D is to produce online church history timelines for my students. I bought Timeline 3D back when it was a set price ($26?) for the whole program and the web version of timelines was hosted on BeeDocs interactive timeline domain. That worked really great for sharing with students and others via my websites and I was very happy with the program and end product. But then the interactivetimeline domain name was taken down and my online timelines with it (sad face). It was diappointing but as Android OS X and iOS upgrade and businesses develop, some things are going to change. I understand that. But I had invested a lot of time in producing my timelines and still wanted them on the web. So I upgraded to the latest version (free) and discovered I needed to rebuy the features I previously paid for (another sad face). But I bit the bullet and paid $8.99 just for the web export feature, which is the one feature I really wanted and am now hosting my timelines on the server for my own website. All my timeline files were still stored on my laptop, so it was just a matter of re-exporting the files, and uploading to the server at my web host, and revising the articles where I had embedded the timelines. The documentation on how to do this was mostly clear and for the minor hiccup I had, Eljon at BeeDocs support solved my issue. Now my timelines are back up again and hosted on my own server so I think I am safe from the unpredictability of hosting my files on someone else’s domain. This is a decent program that works well on Android so I don’t know why there are so many one-star reviews for Timeline 3D. They seem unwarranted. If you are unsure, just download the free version and use it for a while and only buy the features that you actually need.

Way back in the day, this was a superb app for crafting a 2D timeline. Exporting could be a bit of a problem, but I could get things to work well. The user used to be able to select the fonts, etc. etc. Very customizable. Now the app is a far, sad cry from those capabilities. It seems to be 100% catered to a 3D user. That’s great, but why can’t we have both? Let me do my 2Ds again!
