Hi the latest update seemed to broke the ticker, keep saying Connection Error. I am still in Big Sur. I did a Termianl reset and re-enter my RSS feeds still the connection error. Then I check 1 by 1 by entering ONE RSS at one time to see if news display, and almost half the RSS feeds no longer work. Is it I have to update my Android? Or those RSS feeds have expired?
Any remaining elegance is gone now. Oh well.
I have to say, been using this app for many years and I love having a news ticker scroll the latest headlines on my computer screen. I think this program has gotten a bit old in the tooth and the developer has not done much to update it after all these years. It will stop displaying the news every so often. At that point, you need to use an uninstaller to uninstall it. Then you need to download the app again and it will work fine. Of course, you will need to do this workaround every few months. However, this is the only ticker of its kind that I could find so I continue to live with a bit of inconvenience but until the developer of this app does some serious updates to it, I will only give it 1-star
Dev has OBVIOUSLY not added support for Catalina. The app does not show up in the dock or in the Force Quit menu once launched, so there is LITERALLY NO WAY in the interface to quit the app once it's running. As a result of this, cannot access customizations or anything like them. Makes this app worse than useless - it's actually a nuisance and took me an hour to figure out how to get it OFF of my machine.
Yes, I now get warnings that this app may not work on the next OS unless the developer puts out another version. That being said, it is still pretty good, but needs improvement. Rignt now, on this version, I am experiencing a problem getting a story to open. I click on the ticker, and many times, the ticker moves. There is no "Lock" to prevent the ticker from sliding around when you click on it, and that feature is needed badly. Beyond that, a good app to help you discover new news feeds is direly needed, but that is not this author's fault.
