This app helped me in some ways and in others not so much. Auditory it has, but music is so much more than just the “listening” part. Maybe with the combination of a visual and auditory component the gap would be crossed. I think the app has some room to grow and develop. During the feedback process of getting an answer wrong it doesn’t go into much detail other than, you got this wrong and its part of this song. That’s great but what about a visual cue? Like an image of the notes on a piano so you could see what notes they were and where they fall with each other to better understand why you got the answer wrong. I think the simplicity of the app is very very appealing to on the go students (and mom's) like myself. I can almost do this anywhere, as long as I can hear what is going on. I can pop in a movie so my toddler can watch it for about an hour and I can be doing this during it and not be disturbed by her too much. I can do it while I'm waiting for a class or waiting for something. Pretty much any down time this app could be used to help build your ear. It would be cool if there was a vocal way of letting the app know so you could even do it during a long commute to work or school. Over all a great app and so glad my teacher introduced us to this and the musicopoulos package. It is well worth the buy. Coupled with Theory.net it has helped me through my theory and aural skills class this last quarter. I hope it will help many more students and eager learners of music just as it has to me.
This app covers a lot of areas and I feel I have really benefitted from it. I use it in 4 ways: Intervals, Scales, Chords and then I identify notation on a bass staff by tapping the note on an image of a bass guitar fingerboard. I have another app for reading rhythms notation. By doing both, I have learned to read music. And by doing all of these exercises, I have become a much better musician. All through two apps.
Absolutely helped me a lot
Makes me learn more about music, using others ways too. But good app
Repetition leads to mastery. If you dont have patience nor the drive to learn, don't bother downloading this app. However, if you want to expand your listening skills which many students tend to neglect, definitely get this app. Follow every and each instruction and if you feel lost, you should brush up you theory with the musicopoulos app. I've improved a great deal by using these apps along with other materials. Discipline is the key :)
