1. Lay the color reference board on the ground and take a picture of the turf accompanied by the green and yellow areas on the board.

2. You must use the app with specific green and yellow color standards on a target board in order for the DGCI to be computed accurately.

3. To begin, point the camera at the grey area of the color reference board and tap the White Balance button to lock the camera’s white balance.

4. The app determines the DGCI (Dark Green Color Index), which is a number between 0 and 1 related to the chlorophyll content.

5. On the screen, tap the green and yellow standards and the turf to identify the areas to be analyzed.
