Had been using the app from some time now. Except for the home, the other menus donât refresh the latest news. The Top News section shows 1-2 stories from current day and quickly goes into almost 3 months old news. Latest News section is showing Nov 27 of last year every day.. In almost all sections, the news are not sorted, so you may be seeing old news amidst lates news.
The app experience is pretty good & I would have given it a 5 start except for the ad at the bottom taking up way too much space
Two years ago I lived in the US and I tried to download the app and couldnât. I got a message saying ânot available for this regionâ and here I thought I might be the target customer for the app. Having been raised on filter coffee and the Hindu all my life, my short stint in the US was when I really missed the paper. In any case, this version of the app is now available and pretty decent given their slow arrival into the app based technological era and its free, which is a bonus. However, the UI is slow to load on slower connections. What would be great is the ability to sort news by the day rather than sections alone. Maybe the app still has glitches but every time I refresh I get news dated Nov 27. Not sure which year though!! I have favorite columns that I read but am unable to find the section under which it appears and a search does not produce results. This app is definitely a slow but great step in the right direction...thanks.
Why is there wasted space at the bottom of the screen ? Also, would be nice to have options to increase or decrease font size. Overall a good start.
I have tried a lot of Indian news app. Each one of this is filled with ads, spams and not to forget biased news. This app itself is very well made. Loving the way they deliver the news. Straight no nonsense news. Keep it up The Hindu. Thank God. There is one news media that isn't corrupt.
