WNYC for Android

The app tried to read the contents of my clipboard at launch. There is absolutely no reason a radio app would need to do so unprompted. The app is likely collecting the information for marketing purposes. An appalling practice that should be banned from the App Store.

I’ve been using the app for a few years, but I just upgraded to an Android 14 pro. This includes IOS 16. The app now crashes immediately. Please fix it so I can continue listening to WNYC.

WNYC is an informative app but I’m about to delete it for one very important reason. It keeps locking up my Android 13 Pro with a Pop-Up asking me to ‘Allow Paste.’ I never even copied anything and where would I paste it in a news app? It does not go away and I cannot get out of WNYC app. When this occurs I have no choice but to restart the phone. Google has no other feedback or app support besides the negative app review process so it’s your problem or loss if it never gets fixed.

WNYC’s content is superb… 10 out of 5 stars! I’m a listener since 1990. I’ve had technical issues but they are greatly improved and it’s down to only one now. I have an Android SE if that matters but that’s not terribly old so it probably doesn’t. If my feed gets dropped by have to sit through the commercial that precedes getting back onto the contact. It used to happen much more frequently, but it still happens annoyingly often. And I can’t tell why it drops or goes into that reboot mode.It can have her for no apparent reason at all. And when you get more than a couple of them it’s hard to keep track of the content.So the technology continues to improve over the years and is vastly improved. Content is simply SPECTACULAR.

This is the only app on my phone that craps out over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I listen to WNYC every day and every day struggle to keep it playing consistently on my phone. Please fix this! It’s literally been doing this for years.
