This is the only color picker to pick from an area. They just fixed the bug in picking colors from areas, so I can now give them a good rating as the only such color sampler.
I keep this in my dock so I can use it whenever. Super easy, launch app, move magnifying picker over color, click GO and follow flyout menu to copy color values to clipboard. I need it just for HEX and it works well. Picker isn't super accurate, but I'm not picking precise per-pixels colors. I just needed a handy tool to launch quickly from the dock and grab a color sample. It rocks.
This application is an interesting spin on a generic utiltiy. It does the job, is easy to use and works. Thank you!
This is a classic case of an app trying to do too much, but not doing anthing well. When you click on a color, instead of copying the 6 digit code, this app takes you to another screen where it saved a sample. You can adjust the sample, but that's probably not why you downloaded the app in the first place. If you surf through the menu to copy the 6 digit color code, the app also copies the # sign at the beginning of the code, which means you can't paste the code into photoshop and start working with it. Instead, you have to paste the code into a text editor and delete the pound sign. YO - DEVELOPER! Add a "Copy Code As" preference where a user can select #RRGGBB, #RGB, C,M,Y,K etc. That way, we won't have to surf through stupid menus to use the app. With ONE CLICK, we could instantly copy the code! Make sure you offer the option to NOT copy the # sign. All I need are the 6 hex digits. By trying to do too much, this app ends up doing nothing well. And that's a shame. My hunt for a decent color picker goes on. UPDATE: after months of occasional use, I finally just deleted this garage from my Android.
I simply needed something to give me the color code off logo's and other such art/images so that I could match themes and for client sites. Simple and to the point, HueGo nails it.
