About New Republic

New Republic is a Magazines & Newspapers app by The New Republic. Since 1914, TNR has been a platform for public-minded thinkers and writers advocating liberal reform in a new industrial age. Today, TNR remains more committed than ever to its social democratic first principles—and most of all, to the project of restoring flagging liberal confidence in the public arena while reclaiming the embattled legacy of civic republican self-rule in America.

    New Republic Reviews

    • Some articles don’t open

I like the magazine. But as of November 2022, this app is a disaster both on Mobile and Android. Some articles do not open. If you go to settings to do the standard trouble-shooting, there is no icon for getting out of settings (tap the top right: that works even though it is completely blank.) I am of course fully registered. Support people say they can’t do anything unless I bought my subscription through the app, but I didn’t. I bought print + digital. And if I try to read on the website, pop-up windows keep suggesting I should go read something else instead. TNR has good long-form journalism on politics and policy, but their digital operation is rincky-dink nonsense from the 1990s.

    • Disappointed

Paid for membership but only a few of the articles will render.

    • Creative Ideas for Sustaining Our Republic

I wish I had Time to read all of the New Republic’s articles. The few I read each week are all creative and help me to take action. That’s saying a lot in 2022.

    • App

This app is a complete absurdity.

    • App won’t let me log in (I paid for subscription)

So I guess I’ll have to use a browser (it allows me to log in just fine !) ... not a deal- breaker, but reflects poorly on the app designers or their back-end server administration.
