I failed a test on Schoology so
i don’t like schoology because it’s confusing and yea
so i’d like to start off with saying i go by a different name than my birthname. on schoology, i cannot put my name and when i see my birthname it is like a stinging feeling. every time i open a document linked to schoology, it will say [birthname] very large and clear to others who look at my screen and it often gives me intense anxiety in posting on message board assignments because i don’t want my classmates to see my birthname and associate it with myself. it is a very stressful process and i cannot apply for a legal name change at this time which is the only way to change it on both schoology and powerschool, it makes me very very uncomfortable. in speaking to my vice principal and other higher-ups i have learned that there is not even a space for a preferred name and pronouns. also, when i have subs i immediately feel dissociative and out of it because of being deadnamed (sometimes loudly and repetitively) and having to raise my hand or say here and it makes it extremely difficult for me to keep my attention on my work and learn. some may say “ohh well it’s because it’s your legal name”, no. there are several DOCTORS applications that have a space for how a patient should be addressed and there is no reason for a scholastic application to not have that space as well. i don’t like being open about myself most of the time because i know many people will dismiss my emotions but i can promise you this is a very real and horrible experience. i didn’t ask for this, i didn’t ask to be born this way. please make it stop.
Wouldn’t let me sign in to my already existing account for school
I’ve used schoology for a very long time, it can be kinda frustrating using it, Im sure a lot of people agree due to the 1.3 star rating. I’ve seen some pretty idiotic reviews on here such as people saying that they shouldn’t turn in all of their work on schoology and to use a laptop/pc to get the full interface, I don’t think that they fully acknowledge that schools in different areas operate differently and in my case I was forced to turn in all of my work on schoology, and also they don't acknowledge that some people don’t have access to laptops. Luckily I do have access to them and the schoology website is def a much better experience. This app however is terrible. 2/5 would not recommend!
