Garmin BaseCamp for Android

Years ago Garmin had a different app that worked 100 times better than this. This is Useless. Total Garbage

You would think that Garmin—a seemingly successful company—would put a little bit more in the software which many of its users depend upon. Unfortunatly, they don't. Years go by and nothing changes. I've been using (or rather, trying to use) this software for many years with 3 different (Garmin) devices and it never fails to disappoint. Its faults are many but the biggest for me is having to uninstall and reinstall the software every week or so just to get it to recognize a device.

Zoom will not go far enough to show street level. Also, the search feature will not work for addresses; probably because it doesn't reconize the streets. That's all I tried - it was useless to me at that point. Basecamp works excellent on a PC. I have used it for years without problems and still do. My GUESS is that there aren't enough Android users to be taken seriously

Downloaded the latest version from the App Store and when I ran up the Basecamp App, it was completely unstable in Android Monterrey. I really wanted to use it to plan out some "post-pandemic" trips but App does not work. Please update!! Support your Garmin family of users!!

As a Android user I don't feel like this software is very well supported. It's very slow to move round the map, it crashes often. It would be great if Garmin rewrote this software from the ground up to come inline with modering softare and to utilise modern hardware. Unfortunaly I have to really on 'free' and easy to use browser based services to import and export maps to by garmin. But have no options when offine. As a company that makes aircraft navigational equipement, your lack of interest in the stability of your software scared the crap out of me. Rather make fewer products but support those that you do better so that we all feel more assured that you are focused on what is important.
