Used to be a great app. Now when I download stories I’m interested in so I can listen on my drive, I have to restart play after every story. That doesn’t work when driving. I download the app again to see if the last update had fixed it, but it hadn’t so it’s gone again.
The newly redesigned update of the app is so much better than the old one. It actually lets you download shows for offline listening, and looks much more modern.
UPDATE (1/25/23)- Glad to see they are working on it, but the Skip Back/Forward buttons STILL do not work on the lockscreen- please fix this! ….I use this app all the time, and am a long time contributor to this great station. As of this update, I now have to listen to an ad every time the app is used. Not good for users! I understand the need for already frequent ads and fundraising, but if this has to be done, offer an in app purchase to remove the starting ad! In addition, the forward/rewind buttons no longer work on the Android Lockscreen as before. And lastly, dark mode has been requested forever, but still not there. App is very bright in the middle of the night.
I am deleting the app from my phone and pausing my $1200 annual donations until there is a version that doesn’t ask for money every time I launch it. The rest of the app is terrible with bookmarks, etc. But I assume that will get fixed over time. Good bye for now…
It’s seems to be a different issue every day since the new design. Today it shuts down when my phone locks. So ever two minutes if I’m just trying to listen and not actively using my phone. Clearly this new version was not ready for release. Roll it back to you QA team and give them a few more sprints to fix everything before you subject this to you supporting listening (and sustaining members like me!).
