I played this game daily for a month. When you get to higher levels and there are more projectiles, the game lags out quite often. I’ve done 5 games in a row 2x and 4/5 times it lagged out and the app closed, so I barely make progress in harder stages. Kind of disappointing when you spend 20-30minutes on a level just for the app to close(on the 30fps setting as well). Not too p2w, unless you want to roll the gatcha system. The skills are fun, but can get repetitive when you figure out which elements are the strongest/most efficient with beating the time limit per stage to get to higher levels. It’s fun, good content, grindy, interesting abilities, fun quick rpg run around and shoot things game, but now my progress is very slow late game. Good game to spend a few hours of free time. Long term, you will lag out a lot.
This would be a great game if it got rid of its stingy stamina system. Or made practice mode less of a joke, (I finish in 11 minutes or so and win every time now, and it gives no rewards of any kind). Seriously, speed up stamina recharge a bit with every level up, or let it be a talent tree upgrade. It takes 30 stamina to start a 15 minute game and it takes ten minutes to recharge 1 stamina. What a poor decision on an otherwise decent game.
At launch, this game was good and you can still beat all stages by grind. Then they added S tier items that are obviously better, so I decided to spend about $6000 to max them out since I liked this game and wanna support a game I like. Then only 2 months later, they added another set of S tier items that are so much better than the S tier items they added 2 months ago. Survival iO is popular because they are generous with S items and older S items are still useful and comparable to newest S item sets. But this game is very stingy with resources and only way to get S items are doing gatcha with in-app purchase currencies. Worst part is your S items become useless as soon as new S items release.
This game is not balanced. The Flourish game modes energy cost is to high, it cost 30 energy to do 1 Flourish run and you only have 100 energy in total so that’s 3 runs and then you have to wait till you get more energy. The character enhancement items you find in Flourish are random and the quantity that you get is so small for how much energy you use, it makes it feel like it’s not worth it. The Attribute and Proficiency enhancement cost gets so high so quickly you will have to do 100s of runs just to enhance your character once, that’s especially true in the late game. In the Flourish when you augment your character with abilities you have this blue spirit energy that you use to acquire attacks or passive skills and if you acquire too many skills without replenishing this energy you have a chance to fail to acquire an attack or passive skill, which is just ridiculous. The enemies are strange to talk about, there are so many things to watch out for and it takes some getting used to but for the most part it starts out fairly tame but as you go from wave to wave it quickly gets to the point where it is just chaotic and also unfair. The thing that makes it unfair is that there isn’t a pattern it’s all just thrown at you chaotically. The ability descriptions can be difficult to understand and most of the confusing abilities are the guardian abilities and how they affect your character, however regular attack abilities are easy to understand there descriptions. The ability synergies are not, that’s a trial and error sort of thing which is part of learning any game. As far as the visuals, I think there great.
It’s fun, but the fact that you can’t play offline us a major downside compared to the many similar games on the store. I’d give it a higher rating if this was added.
