This thing loves to stop my music playback. Maddeningly it’s not even consistent. Sometimes the timer stops playback, sometimes not. Sometimes it stops just from switching back to Caliber from another app. Not good for workout flow.
I was looking for a replacement app for Future. This isn’t it… no concept of “starting” your workout, no Google Watch integration, tiny video demonstrations of the form with bad audio, etc.
I get they want you to pay for the coaching (which is extremely pricey) and this is the free version. However, why would I when this happens. Also, it is kinda clunky to navigate and find your workouts to record. I do love the instructional videos. I love how it integrates with my health app. Oh well, back to the drawing board on finding a new exercise app.
Caliber has been essential in my strength training. Love the app and all its features. The only bummer is that when I create a new exercise I can’t upload a video without signing up for the coaching option (I already have a trainer). I wish there was a medium pay option that unlocked features I could use with my coach without upgrading all the way to a caliber coach.
I got into caliber through the 1:1 training. Would not recommend based on my experience. Had two coaches ~ one was responsive but reluctant to change or modify the program even when results were not happening. Second coach was focused on mindset. I do not need mindset ~ I was motivated in the program and needed feedback on my routine and how to dial up or down for results. Both coaches never increased my training load even though I said I could do more. Felt very cookie cutter and I felt they did not care about my results. Second coach rarely checked in except at the end of my program, when it was time to renew. I am sure there are good coaches at caliber. I just don’t think I got them. Big monetary investment for what was a meh experience. 1 star for coaching, but 4 stars for the app and the co founder, who is invested in his business, is quick to respond to issues, and works hard to address them and make things right.
