Sad to say, I have left GoodNotes 5 behind for other options. I cannot explain why the problems have occurred but they have and to my mind are serious. 1) Frequent freezes. 2) Uploading files horribly slow. This is an issue wether you save on your Mobile or iCloud. This didn’t used to be a problem. Now a large PDF can take thirty minutes to become useable. 3) When the app is launched the “Preparing to read “ is horribly slow. This could be due to the size of one’s collection, I suppose, but why? This brings me to the question why does GoodNotes seem to store the document within itself and on the iCloud? Most apps of this sort only load the document that you are currently working on and some will keep track of what you previously read or worked on. I have been devoted to this app for a very long period of time. However, there are apps with similar functions, right here on the App Store that have none of these issues. They might not be as pretty, but they work without driving you nuts! If the developers fix these problems I’ll return but not before.
There's a lot more this app could do to make it more user friendly and it quit unexpectedly often. When it was working well, it wasn't overly user friendly.
Fairly feature-rich. No subscription. Works on Android. Great handwriting engine. This is worth 5 stars. Desprately needs the ability to put more than three colors on the toolbar. Or fewer! Really, just a modular toolbar would make this app slay.
This app has blown my mind since I started using it & I cant believe how easy it is to use & upload documents, stickers & color codes
especially when you update the software like every 1 or 2 days
