I bought an Xprinter and just needed a simple app to design some things and easily print them out. Two Requests 1. Add manual spacing. I just extended my design to have 2 extra mm, but it would be nice to just design within the actual label size and then add spacing in a seperate field. 2. I would like to manually move the text around like you can do with the pictures. 3. BONUS There are certain things in the app that respond laggy. It would be nice to see those snappier GREAT app though. Best I've used
Been using Live Label for a while now and it is one of the best barcode labeling software I found, especially for the price! Especially on Google products so much simpler when using Dymo, Rollo, thermal and Laser printers... It's just so easy...!!!
This software is outstanding. I've used this software for more than a year and it's impressive. I am scratching my head a little why anyone would give this product less than 5 stars, and anyway you can see developer responded diligently to address concerns. I'm very 'picky' but this product has no flaws and is super easy to use.
TLTR - Does not work. Over priced at $150 to unlock. Ugly interface. Ridiculously large app size. Full review: I'm techie, and also a hobbyist Google Developer. So I'm fairly sure my experience was not down to technical skills. The app is absolutely ginormous given what it does. It would appear it is written using Electron, and that framework on its own is over 50% of the applications size. Anyway, that is not why it gets one star. The interface is just insane and not at all intuitive or Android like. This is also not why this gets one star. To print anything (I'm ignoring the watermark option as that is not printing anything useful) you have to pay $49. I just bought Affinity Publisher, a fully fledged DTP application for less than that. This is also not why this gets one star. To print barcodes that is an extra $100, so we are now at $150. Wow. Really. That is super expensive. This is also not why this gets one star. The reason it gets one star is because it just doesn't work. Clicking the print icon appears to send a job, but it goes nowhere and no error message is generated. it doesn't get as far as the printers spooler, it just vanishes. Yes I picked a default printer because as the app says "this works better with a default printer" lol, OK, but that bug workaround didn’t help me. Yes I tried different printers. If this was a reasonably priced application I might have performed some more troubleshooting. For $150 in-app purchases to get full functionality I not only expect it to work, but I expect it to work flawlessly. So it is now in the trash. Maybe my next app aught to be a label design app, it seems we have a need for a true native app, priced reasonably and one that actually works. I dont think the developer os greedy. Maybe the developer chose to price the app based on the amount of time they took to write it and maintain it vs sales generated. Maybe the developer should release a working native app to generate more sales. I'm not suggesting a 'race to the bottom' for pricing, but $150 to print labels, 3 times the price of a full application that amongst numerous other things can also print labels. Google needs to start stating how much it costs to get functionality in 'free' apps. I wouldn’t have wasted my time downloading this $150 lead weight.
I really like LL, I use it almost daily. I have labels saved for general tasks around the office, but I most often use it for product and item labels. It flawlessly reads my data from Excel and spits out the perfect labels every time. I had some trouble getting it to print to my USB thermal label printer, but the developer showed me a workaround and then the newest Android fixed the original problem.
