I love this app. I’ve tried a buch of productivity apps, and this one is easy to use, flexible, and beautiful. BEST APP. It has made my work days so much more enjoyable. I can’t reccomend enough.
I had been looking for a replacement to Awareness which is no longer in development and I tried Tadama after several others. And I must say I didn't start out with that much hope of finding something that suited me but Tadama does all I need in an elegant way. The visualization of time sessions as circles that update is really perfect (or at least, that seems intuitive to me). I'd gladly contribute small tips to keep this app updated with future OS X versions.
I have been trying every app for taking breaks I could find, but they all had some issue. Most of the apps had a list of tasks built in, and I don’t want to be bothered with a bunch of extra features for what should be a simple application. Others didn’t look great, and others weren’t customizable enough. What I really love is that you can swipe This hits the sweet spot for me. On top of that, detecting when I’m away and pausing the timer is awesome. I love that it shows the time remaining discretely in the notification, and that it adds a little pause icon when it’s paused. There are a couple features I would love to see: during the break, it would be nice to have the option to dim the screen brightness (to save power on my laptop since I’m not using it) and to somehow show if the break is a short or long one, either with a different colored background, or a timer, or a total time, or something, since I can’t really tell if I’m supposed to take a long or short break. The way it is now, I have to keep looking at my screen to check if it’s over yet. Or different colors for the two types or something. And maybe a notification a few minutes before the break starts, but now I feel like i’m asking too much :) Wherever you decide to go with this app, I’m sure it’ll be great. Thanks for all the hard work, and being willing to make this even though you saw a bunch of options were already out there. Edit: I appreciate the response. Unchecking start break automaticaly is exactly what I wanted. Not only is it a great, unobtrusive way to tell me to take a break, but it says right in the notification whether I should take a long or short break. Also, you rock for being so responsive to feedback. Good luck, hope this gets more attention!
