I woud like to say this is a very limited app in terms of giving you different types of bodies. It can be a good reference when you are trying to sketch, but also, it has a major glitch as you try to articulate the models. It starts rotating continuously, and that is deterring me from using it. I hope this gets fixed.
This app has been very helpful to me as a non-digital artist when developing preliminary studies for oil paintings. Manipulating the figure by clicking on the circles to move the segments of the body is hard to get used to but once I got the hang of it, not so bad at all, and the ability to manipulate the direction of the lighting is a very useful feature. But it isn't the kind of app that works in an intuitive way (this isn't necessarily a bad thing in itself), and there doesn't seem to be a complete help file, so it can be difficult to use at times, especially for a relatively infrequent user. A far more complete text based help file, either available within the app or available for download would be very much appreciated! Even without such a help file, the app needs to somehow provide info on how to update to the newest version, 2.01, in my case on a Android Air. I can read all about the new update on the Steam site, but there is no link anywhere that I could find. It's not availalbe within the app itself, nor through the App Store, nor on the Steam site - at least not that I could locate. Should these two issues be solved I'd be happy to revise my review upward.
This app has very good features in terms of posing, but the Android version just feels unfinished. The loading screen takes too long (even longer than some PC games) and I cannot skip it! Where is the "quit" button? How can I save snapshots?? I looked at the help documents and also searched online, but I couldn't find any answers. With these problems solved, it would be an easy 5 stars, but currently, no no...
What kind of Android developer writes a program that can NOT be effectively used without a middle-button on the mouse? This is OUTRAGEOUS!!!
This app is a HUGE for referencing. This App works best on the Desktop as you get much more, full control of model pose-ability movements. I use it on the desktop, then export the poses to my Mobile for sketching, drawing, and shading using Procreate App. There's a HIGH learning curve to posing the models; you will get frustrated in the beginning but will eventually get the hang of it once you play around with the features. For best posing results, you would have to change your viewing camera angles (perspective) to get the proper poses to your liking, otherwise, you would get awkward poses. Using a desktop mouse makes it a bit easier to adjust custom poses (versuses the Mobile app version). Note that the 'perspective slider' interface gives you a different perspective versus using the zoom scroll wheel on my mouse. There's a bug in the App that makes the interface move/rotate continuously and in order to stop it, I'd have to exit the software app (currently using on Android OS Catalina). Make sure you save your poses. The App allows you to save up to five poses to reload later. Hopefully, we'll get future update versions which will allow different head, face and body shapes such as oval, square, round, husky, bulky, chunky and/or shorter limbs, etc. Right now the App offers super-thin to super-yolked, super-heroe like physiques. Overall, this App is amazing for artists to use as a reference to human anatomy and lighting concepts.
