I love the fact this app allows for simple writing and sketching. It’s exactly what I need for my work.
I’ve used Noteshelf for years and loved it. This new update seems to have one feature I hate. Maybe it’s user error though. I wish it would stop offloading all my notebooks. Every time I open the app all my notebooks show a cloud and have to be re-downloaded. This is very frustrating because I often need to use it offline. I want my notes backed up, but is there some way to auto backup without offloading them automatically?
First time writing a review, this app is good if you like to take note without taking pictures. The picture edit function is so bad…
Update: use this app every day despite it’s shortcomings. It’s the best I can find. Still would love to see a more convenient way to force an immediate back up of the journal I’m in. It takes 5 taps to force a back-up and one many occasions I’ve noticed it will not automatically back up for days. I’m still waiting for cross-platform compatibility. I have my daily journal on one device basically. Even had trouble accessing it on another iOS device. :/ Here is my original review. It is sadly still accurate though support seems to genuinely listen. They just haven’t added the features yet. Anyway: Just installed this app on my Android and my Android phone yesterday only to discover they don’t appear to sync to each other. This app seems so good but the fact that I can’t see the notes I create on my Android on my Android and vice versa has me really scratching my head. I have both backing up to my OneDrive. Please add this feature. I can’t find another app that has all the features that this app does AND syncs across iOS AND Android. Just noticed that the Android version saves files as .nsa files while the iOS version saves them as .noteshelf. Why not just make both versions of the app save them in the same format?! It's really puzzling! It's like you want these apps to be LESS useful.
My last review raved about how good NS2 is. But since then it just keeps on improving. UI has been updated to an even more gorgeous look and the new pastel covers have a super clean appearance. After a pleasant interchange with their support team earlier today, I just wanted to reiterate what I said earlier. Within a day they answered my inquiry in concise, easy to follow instructions that were very helpful. I would also like to mention a nice functionality that I recently discovered. Sometimes when editing handwriting or graphics, the size of the eraser tip prevented cleaning up lines wedged into small spaces. I found a easy fix is to simply select and drag the unwanted strokes out of the tight space with the Lasso tool (which can be extremely precise with an Google Pencil) to an area on the page where it can then be erased with ease. This app is the best!
