I really appreciate Jeff’s willingness to go deep on questions and the fact that his broader approach to the industry allows me to stay somewhat updated on the latest trends without needing to rely on extensive networks of colleagues or spending hours of my free time researching more. While I love learning, it’s nice to be able to put on a convo between Jeff and his latest guest and not miss a beat in the industry.
I have always wondered how different apps work from an early age of browsing and poking around online, to more practical data applications while studying petroleum engineering in school. This podcast has been great at giving a behind the scenes view of how software is built, what things are considered, and why they are considered. Even if you don’t get the technical jargon, it’s relatively easy to connect the dots for a dedicated listener with access to google and the curiosity. It inspired me to pursue an information science path within my industry, and it serves as a treasure trove in my current personal studies. Thanks for all you do! And you always have a willing supporter and helper out here in Houston.
Really informative podcasts, crisp discussions related to topic and great style of interviewing.
I love the podcast. This app is good and I love the updated content, sleek interface and other features, but I have two big complaints that pushed me back to using Google podcast instead of this app. 1) playback does not autopause when Google or Google maps talks to me. I listen to podcast while I drive, and the lack of this feature is very annoying. 2) playback failures are a little bit too common. In particular, when restarting an episode from a previous day by using the Google control center menu on my Android xs, the app would freeze and not play anything until it was restarted.
There is a “heart” feature and a “save” feature. I should be able to see the episodes I’ve hearted just as I can with saved. I use “saved” to mark episodes I haven’t listened to yet but am interested in. However, I would also like to build my personal playlist of favorites that I think are important to return to or share with others. As it stands now, I simply have these both under “saved,” which is not as organized as I’d like
