Use this for DND. The loaded up sounds have been so versatile. So glad i went through with this.
The pro version is worth the cost. Useful for use in rpg sessions.
This is the 3rd āsoundsā app Iāve tried and it could be my go-to with some basic improvements. Two major missing elements make this app incredibly frustrating to use. First, there is no way to PAUSE all sounds. If you have 3, 5, 7 things playing and you want silence for ā¦ whatever reason ā¦ thereās no way to do it, so you have to scroll through each sound and pause each one individually. Which is also a PITA, since the pause/play buttons are so small and right next to each other. The status also doesnāt change. You have to the look to the left to see if you actually paused it or not. Secondā¦ this is a SOUNDBOARD app. Why is there no AirPlay button ANYWHERE in the app?! This exclusion is simply mind-boggling to me. The Mobileās speakers are simply not powerful enough to play some of the sounds over the din of gaming conversation. I was able to ātrickā this app into using my home stereo, by selecting the source in AirPlay from another app, then switching to RPG Sounds. Hardly idealā¦ There is so much unused real estate that a Pause All and AirPlay buttons could be added right on the Quick Access bar, or on the sound groups bar above it. Thereās also tons of room where the list of sounds are (in some cases almost the entire app is an empty screen) to add another control bar. Some other small caveats. Some of the sounds lack depth to be able to tell exactly what itās supposed to be. Some of the loops are at odd intervals .. the whole ābroken recordā effect. I really want to LOVE and use this app, but when Iām in the middle of running a game, struggling with a SFX app isnāt on the top of my priority list. Some basic usability improvements could make this a 5 star app. UPDATE: Well, not only did the devs reply and acknowledge my input, theyāve added all of what I asked/suggested. THIS is how a quality developer handles their products. Iāve upgraded this rating to 5 stars and canāt wait to use this later today for an upcoming game session. I think Iāve seen that they have other sound apps too, that Iāll be checking out. Maybe thereās an upgrade option so that everything is in one place, IDK Iāll have to go look. Anyway, great job āguys/galsā and a huge Thank you for taking my feedback seriously. UPDATE Again: This really needs updated and added higher quality sounds. Iāve recently been floating TabletopAudio. Tons of variety and much higher quality audio. It would be nice if the devs offered purchaserās regular new audio updates several times / year.
Honestly just add more sounds and thats all i got to say really
Custom music and sounds is its strength in pro version. But their instructions on adding custom sounds by any means other than an itunes file sync simply does not work currently.
