This app is horrible. But MTA is ripping people off. How do you charge extra for peak hours as if you will be guaranteed a seat? The train doesn’t go any faster than it does off peak! The app will block you from opening if it’s after a certain time frame.. but if I paid for the ticket it shouldn’t matter.. but it stays open for three hours but you can only use it once.. I’m soo confused.. count your days MTA.. don’t download this app..
Couple month’s back I bought a 20 trip pass. Pretty expensive price tag. I was Only able take the train a couple times since then. Come to find out I have 16 trips expiring in 5 days. Whey would they expire? Seems like another big way MTA steals for there customer.
The app is great for convenience and skipping lines. But it doesn't work the frustration is two-fold. Its no longer convenient, and you’re now waiting on lines. It’s been almost a month and the app still isn’t working. Guess customers are not a priority. If and when the app gets fixed, to show us good customer service and a thank you, we should get a better discount for twenty rides, monthly etc. Give us an incentive to come back! Disappointed and frustrated!!!
I bought a 10-trip pass and have 6 tickets sitting in my ticket wallet. But MTA etix decided to sign me out of my account and kept citing an error code. I was for sure using the correct email and password (I have it written down). Then the “reset your password” function wasn’t working. I requested an email link 5+ times and nothing. Thanks to that, I had to pay $25 to buy a ticket on the train to commute to my job. Money is very tight right now and this is absolutely ridiculous. Don’t use this app to buy tickets.
There are many problems with this app. One thing to beware of: Once you have bought a ticket for someone else on it, they MUST travel with you at the same time. There is NO provision to transfer a ticket to them electronically or by email. So if they decide to take a later train, they have to buy another ticket.
