3D Sym Op is a Education app by National University of Singapore. “3D Sym Op” is an educational app designed to visualise the symmetry elements and operations on molecules of various point groups. The 3D molecule is searchable via four ways: Name, Formula; 2D Structure; Point Group and Image Recognition.
APK (Android Package Kit) files are the raw files of an Android app. Learn how to install 3d-sym-op.apk file on your phone in 4 Simple Steps:
Yes. We provide some of the safest Apk download mirrors for getting the 3D Sym Op apk.
1. Symmetry elements – rotation axis (C); reflection plane; inversion point (i) and improper rotation (S) can be selectively displayed on the scalable 3D molecule.
2. A quiz mode is available for which each time has 7 symmetry element questions followed by 3 point group questions, for self-assessment.
3. “3D Sym Op” is an educational app designed to visualise the symmetry elements and operations on molecules of various point groups.
4. The 3D molecule is searchable via four ways: Name, Formula; 2D Structure; Point Group and Image Recognition.
5. On touch the symmetry operation e.g. C6 – 60o rotation, is performed and user can pause/resume movement at any time.
6. This mobile application is a joint project between the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, and School of Computing, both from the National University of Singapore.
7. Tapping the point group would display the character table.
8. The corresponding 2D image with symmetry element can also be shown.
9. Chemistry undergraduates are encouraged to download this application to supplement their individual learning purposes.

Some people obviously don’t enjoy symmetry or inorganic chemistry(the one other review). I however found this to be quite useful for understanding symmetry, and really enjoyed the concept in inorganic chem. And even after I have taken the class I continue to enjoy this app, idk maybe it’s ASMR or something, but I just ENJOY being able to see compounds reflect across each other in perfect symmetry, like wow yes, I especially love chemistry because I get it for the most part and I eventually learn the stuff that I don’t get and I love feeling like my mind is expanding with the wondrous new concepts that I’ve just learned. I loved inorganic chemistry until the Tanabe-Sugano diagrams where I got lost and then failed every class because I unfortunately did not have enough time to learn it with the very busy schedule that I had. *Note to new college students that already have college credit from high school and that have graduated early, if your academic advisor sets up your 4 year plan and includes a semester with 16 credit hours, and multiple hard/intense classes(for example: calc2, inorg chem, and an essay writing class)with an extra intense class that’s 8hrs long every day during fall break. GGGEEETTT A SECOND OPINION, PLEASE(probs from an advisor of a similar field)[if your parents won’t let you drop out of a class during your heavy schedule to save your other classes, then show them this comment please] Good luck everyone, and I hope you enjoy this app as much as I have. I seriously don’t like it. I don’t need symmetry. Useless app.
