Needs major updates. Itâs frustrating to have the user logged out after every use.
Not only is this app bad but it also undermines the purpose of safety and inventory database of our chemicals. Iâm also not sure why itâs taking so long to create an update to fix the current issues with the app... it wonât even load. It doesnât seem like EH&S is having good communication with their programming team so itâs going to be hard for future staff to take them seriously when they attempt to take their chemical inventory into the digital realm.
To all the complaints, Iâd ask those people do you really want to use paper and binders for another 50 years? And if your thinking we donât need an inventory, then please your try convincing the government that researchers will be diligent and not store unstable chemicals for 30 years and wonât over stock flammables or other nonsense lol! In a perfect inventories arenât needed, but we arenât in a perfect world. So what we end up with is PIâs hoarding chemicals and a way over due, way over burdened UC chemicals system in 2018. Itâs not perfect, but itâs heading the right direction and I am just glad any effort has been made! Flying Spaghetti Monster knows researchers and PI wonât make the process easy and will sure let you know in their complaints! So to the UC Chemicals programmers, Iâd like to say, keep up the good work and please please keep at it! Ps if your reading this and you are new to grad school... I promise what we had (or didnât have) was worse... so try to learn how we got to where we are now, before you complain about what we are working on đ! Sincerely A researcher at UCLA
This app is hilariously bad in so many ways. It has stopped working for iOS for a few months now and even with the constant âupdatesâ there seems to be no progress in trying to actually address any issues. Would not recommend at all for any lab to adopt this atrocious app. Look elsewhere because this is not it.
