We went to France for a month, VIRTUO was an easier access to our car that was waiting for us at our terminal. Easy drop of at the same location. Comfortable car and clean, when we had some questions it was easy to just contact customer service through the app. Will rent from them again.
The app’s document upload process is buggy, it also wants you to scan a passport? After uploading the documents it was trying to find locations from France instead of the United States, and so I just deleted my account and continued my search on the app market. I was looking for a smooth process, and waiting 3 days for your drivers license to be verified I’d likea bump in the road.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. VIRTUO IS PREDATORY AND WILL BANKRUPT YOU. Their app is flawed and customer service is unhelpful. We rented a car through Virtuo in Nice for our honeymoon. When we first picked up our car we noticed there was a scratch on the bumper and right rear door. There were also scratches on 3 out of 4 wheels. We took 6 pictures and uploaded them through the app before we even left the airport. The rest of our trip was uneventful - apart from the app glitching and having a hard time unlocking the car about 80% of time time. When we got back to the states I received an invoice for €1,041!!!! For the scratch on the bumper and rear door that we had reported through the app. When asked about it through their customer service, they were unable to find the photos we had uploaded through the app. This is the first poor review I have ever left for a company. Please just go with a well established, reputable company. Virtuo is an absolute scam and their customer service is useless. I have read other reviews of this happening to multiple people.
The process of initially getting into the car was a bit challenging but thanks to their excellent customer service we managed it but it did take us 30 to 40 minutes to do so. Once in it was an excellent rental in fact it was the best rental car I have ever driven in my 65 years of driving. Well worth the initial hassle and I would highly recommend this company.
Overcharged me €250 for supposed “damage” that I had photographic evidence to prove was incorrect. I spent over a month trying to get a response from their terrible customer service to no avail, just being bounced around different teams. Even tried to reach out to the founder on LinkedIn lol. In the end I got my credit card company to dispute the charge - they totally agreed it was ridiculous. Then, out of the blue, Virtuo suspended my account. Don’t use this company.
