I am mean from the movies and shows are pretty mixed, but at least they’ve tried to select better material (morally speaking), and give you information about each one. And of course they don’t have really bad (again, morally) shows like on the mainstream services. but this app… Let me put it this way, I checked and I haven’t logged in for just over two years. I remember that this app was buggy and hard to use and that’s one of the biggest reasons I stopped using it or subscribing. And coming back now, it doesn’t seem to be any better. The interface is almost unusable. No landscape mode, it’s often not obvious where to tap or swipe to change screens or get back to where you were, sometimes there’s gobbledygook instead of text, and I got to one screen where I couldn’t get back out of it at all.
This app does not properly read and filter content ratings set at the website for the account. Even if I max out the ratings on the website the app is still remembering the original settings made at the time of signup requiring entry of the password every time I try to play a show. This pretty much makes the “customize your experience” a very bad experience. This is true for the Mobile and the Android apps. The website reads it correctly, but a desktop computer is not a MOBILE device. Requests to fix this problem have been ignored.
My family and I really enjoy the Dove Channel. There’s finally a place to go with only positive content. My only criticism is that not enough people know about it. You should do campaign blitzes on Tiktok, Facebook etc. to spread the word. It’s a cost effective way to advertise.
