Font size? Image placeholder?

I use this app on my Android to create a shopping list so I can check off items on my Google Watch while shopping. I really like how the app looks on the Google Watch, no complaints there, but I can't stand the sight of the app on my Android: The font is way too big for me, it takes up unnecessary space within the list. Also, I don't add food/item photos so it would be great if the food/item photo placeholder was an option, especially when there is no photo. It's a bit of an eyesore. Overall, I enjoy this useful app but I'd like to see more customization options.
