If you don’t want a lot of fancy formatting and social networking options, but what you need is to write down your thoughts or your life and not risk nosy people poking through your documents - and if you don’t mind doing some of the organizing and heavy lifting yourself - this app is as good a solution as I’ve seen available for Android. You’ll have a barebones environment, reliable encryption, and no forced online syncing or subscription model. You download the software, it’s yours and your files are yours. If you want to support the developer, you buy the Pro version. It’s that simple. As near as I can tell the only difference is an occasional ad for Pro at the login screen.

This could be a great basic note app with simple convenience features ! It still has a few bugs and glitches and some typos. But if you want your notes always secured with encryption and a password - this will do that ! It could be a great way to index and save existing text file notes made elsewhere, I think.
