Tracks data, videos aren’t saved

3/5 stars because I can get the app to record one video per session, but after that when I hit the “Moment” button it acts like it’s recording but doesn’t save anything. Otherwise, it’s pretty cool to see your track and map data for drives. Porsche, please fix the video feature and this app will be 5/5 stars! Happy to help debug if you contact me. For reference I’m using this with a 2017 718 Cayman Base with Sport Chrono & CarPlay (latest version of the app and IOS on Android 13 Pro).

3.04 problems

Last two phone upgrades has caused the app to not load. Shows opening database but then goes to phone home page and won’t open on new Android 14. If I delete and reload app all data will be lost. Not happy

Needs improvements for optimization.

This app actually has great potential but sometimes it decides to turn off while you are driving on track, and it is very hard to analyze your data without having the app crash. If the problems with the crashes goes away, my rating would be a solid 5, but for now 3 is ideal.

Please hire a professional software team!

The quality and reliability of this app is so bad! Really didn’t expect to be let down so much by Porsche. The app does not fulfill its main function, which is recording your drive and overlaying the data. Advice to the Porsche Product/Program Manager in charge of this App: 1. Hire a better software team. 2. re-write the app from the ground up to eliminate the bad code and bugs that persist through updates 3. Test on more phone models to ensure performance and reliability. Prevent app crashes.

Testing suggestions

Load lots of sessions. At least 6 sessions per track day and 20 track days. Each session should have about 10 laps. I believe that is a good data point to test resiliency and stability of the app and cover a good cohort of users. You can vary the video quality too from highest resolution to mid resolution. Also test for accuracy during interruption. Phone calls and notifications.
