I have seen search redirects in Google Chrome on my computer for exactly a year now. I tried to solve the problem, and it was solved when I deleted this app. If this app is the cause, I would not recommend you to use this app. Here is my evidence: The logo is clearly a photoshopped picture of an eagle, there were more 1 star ratings than 4 star ratings, has a large file size, I did not download this app, and it is not a very good substitute to Finder. I hope that there can be more investigation behind this, since I cannot be sure this is the reason the search redirects are happening. I hope you found this review helpful.
Obviously it looks like what many would expect from a standard file manager, left pane gets a tree hierarchy right pane shows you what's in the selected folder. The first place this app goes wrong, is from the limitation of Google (wrong as it is) to block people from the root folder. As an app, it should be allowed to offer the option and with full warning to the user. Second and even worse issue, is that it currently expects everyone to be using the default white background as you have out of the box. Those who choose the "dark theme" Google so "graciously allows" will find the program completely unusable. The program does not currently adapt to the color scheme in use, so when using the "dark" theme the program doesn't kern color and highlight properly meaning you get barely visible text in any area of the program. The options pane appears to have only one or 2 areas that work, I have screen shots if the Dev would like to see them, since I noted in another review they couldn't "reproduce the problem" Its a great idea.. but it fails from being inside the app store from Google, and also because of the theme coloring issue.
Just retried the app again. It is pretty unusable with Mojave. The settings window white on white. The same for the top part of the window. The files / folder window is black on dark. - GREAT! And the Sandbox "thing" just doesn't cut it as long you can't select the Android HD itself, just the HOME dir. As long as the BASICS are not updated, I suggest everybody should stay away from that app. - SORRY this is not for me!
I need access to many folders off the root of the system, and this app won’t allow it. I suspect its an Google restriction, but as a software developer I need to be able to access my full computer, not just my home drive.
Didn’t give this app much time. Other file managers that I have tried didn’t require you to expand the sandbox. Then when I expanded the sandbox, it wouldn’t let me select a hard drive. You can only expand the sandbox on folders, not hard drives. Still looking for a Windows Explorer style file manager. Finder is the only Android tool that really takes a back seat to what Windows offers.
